The Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) met in Vienna on 4 - 6 September to continue its discussion of a U.S. draft proposal on a statement on civil nuclear cooperation with India.

During the meeting, Participating Governments exchanged views and addressed a series of questions concerning the draft and adopted the Statement on Civil Nuclear Cooperation with India by consensus.

The NSG will ask the Director General of the IAEA, Mohammed ElBaradei, to publish its decision as an INFCIRC document.

Die Gruppe der Nuklearen Lieferländer (Nuclear Suppliers Group, NSG) ist ein Exportkontrollregime, mit dessen Hilfe die NSG-Mitglieder die Proliferation von Nuklearmaterial und –technologien verhindern wollen. In diesem Jahr hat Deutschland den rotierenden Vorsitz der NSG inne. Die NSG ist ein vertrauliches Gremium.
