German Government campaigns for Bonn as UN location
Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and Federal Environment Minister Norbert Röttgen are together campaigning to strengthen Bonn as a UN location.
Bonn is bidding to host the Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). The location of the IPBES Secretariat will be decided in the period 16-21 April in Panama.
On Wednesday (28 March) the two ministers are hosting at the Federal Foreign Office an information event followed by a reception for ambassadors accredited in Germany. Jürgen Nimptsch, the City of Bonn’s mayor, will also be present.
