German Government condemns attacks in Iraq

Once again many people have been killed in a series of attacks in Baghdad. According to Iraqi figures, over 130 people died and hundreds were injured in the attacks on 25 October on the Justice and Labour Ministries and the headquarters of the Governor.

The German Government has condemned the attacks in the strongest possible terms.

Federal Foreign Office Deputy Spokesperson Andreas Peschke stated that

“We condemn in the strongest possible terms these pernicious attacks that have once again taken such a heavy toll in human lives. We offer our profound sympathy to those who have lost loved ones. We wish those who have been injured a speedy recovery. Germany will continue to stand by the Iraqi people and support their efforts to build stability and democracy.”
