Conference in the Federal Foreign Office “Stability Policy in the Caucasus Region”

As in previous years, from 25 to 27 May the Federal Foreign Office is again hosting a conference on security policy in cooperation with the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies (GCMC). This year's theme is “Stability Policy in the Caucasus Region”.

The conference offers a discussion platform for senior government representatives and parliamentarians from a total of nine countries in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus. In addition to the current security policy situation, the conference will focus, among other things, on regional cooperation strategies and the prospects for economic cooperation in the Caucasus.

At 11.40 h. on Monday morning (25 May), Gernot Erler, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, will open the conference with a keynote speech. The closing speeches will be given at 14.30 h. on Wednesday (27 May) by Major-General (ret.) Justus Graebner, the GCMC's Deputy Director, and Ambassador Dr Hans-Dieter Lucas, Deputy Director-General responsible for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia in the Federal Foreign Office.
