This is good news for now for the European steel and aluminium industry. It shows that a united EU, which speaks with one voice, will be heard.

However, the fundamental conflict remains. That is why it is now important that we lobby for fair and rules-based trade and a multilateral world trade system in the talks until early May. That will be one of the issues discussed in the dialogue with the US under Cecilia Malmström.
