Foreign Minister Heiko Maas will travel to Vienna on Friday (6 July).

He will attend the meeting of the Joint Commission which is monitoring the implementation of the Vienna nuclear agreement with Iran (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, JCPOA). The agreement constitutes an important anchor of security in a conflict-ridden region.

The meeting will send a clear political signal that the countries attending it continue to stand to the agreement and attach great importance to its further implementation.
