I have just heard the news of the attempted attack at the Louvre in Paris.

We are very happy that no damage could be done, as the French security forces responded so quickly.

Our French friends have been the victims of terrorist attacks several times in recent months. We stand shoulder to shoulder in solidarity with France and will not waver in the joint fight against Islamist extremism and terrorism.
