I would like to thank and congratulate Sigmar Gabriel! Revising this very complex and important part of energy policy in only a few months to improve its practicality, was hard work.
We continue to promote renewable energies, but now within a set political framework and with planned and well-defined targets. I welcome the European Commission’s support for this policy. Thus it can be ensured that sustainable energy policy is compatible with Germany’s industrial competitiveness.
Germany continues to be a trailblazer as it advances the transformation of its energy system in a consistent and at the same time sensible way, focusing on sustainability, security of supply and affordability.
