Foreign Minister Westerwelle on the bus accident in Italy
Foreign Minister Westerwelle today (29 July) issued the following statement on the bus accident in Italy in which at least 38 people died:
“I am appalled by the tragic death toll in the terrible bus accident in Italy. Our thoughts and sympathy are with those who have lost loved ones. To those who have been injured we wish a speedy recovery.”
There are no indications at present that any German nationals are among the victims or casualties. The German Embassy is in contact with the Italian authorities and is doing everything possible to find out whether any German nationals were among those who died or were injured in the accident.
