I welcome the likely agreement on the commencement of direct talks between Israel and the Palestinians achieved through the mediation of the United States. This would be a major step forward and an enormous move by the two parties towards each other.
It would also be a great success for John Kerry’s untiring efforts for the resumption of direct peace talks in the Middle East.
