Minister of State Pieper welcomes the signing of the German-Czech agreement on rescue services

04.04.2013 - Press release

Cornelia Pieper, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office, issued the following statement today (4 April) in Berlin on the framework agreement between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Czech Republic on cross-border rescue service cooperation:

I welcome today’s signing of the rescue services agreement. Political relations between our countries have seldom been better and are of great importance to both sides. This agreement creates the basis for closer cross-border rescue services cooperation. This will lead to improved service in the region surrounding the German-Czech border. Having German and Czech rescue services active in each other’s countries shows how we work together as neighbours on a day-to-day basis. It shows how our countries are growing together.

The framework agreement was signed today in Pilsen in the Czech Republic by Federal Minister of Health Daniel Bahr and his Czech counterpart, Leoš Heger.
