Foreign Minister Westerwelle: ceasefire a great relief
Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement on the announcement of the ceasefire in Gaza:
I welcome the announcement of a ceasefire. If this ceasefire holds, it would be a great relief for us all, but above all for the people in Israel and in Gaza. All sides now have a responsibility to make the ceasefire into a durable truce.
We will do everything in our power to help stabilize the situation.
