On Thursday, 14 June, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office Cornelia Pieper and her Polish counterpart Grażyna Bernatowicz will present the German-Polish Prize in Berlin.
The recipients of this year’s prize are, on the German side, the German-Polish Grammar School in Löcknitz (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), a European School, and, on the Polish side, the city of Wrocław. For 20 years, the prize has been awarded for special services to the development of German-Polish relations. Each winner of the prize receives 10,000 euros.
Minister of State Pieper, who is also Coordinator of German-Polish Intersocietal and Cross-Border Cooperation, made the following statement today (13 June) before the awards ceremony:
Every day, many people in Germany and Poland are working to see that the two countries understand each other better, get to know more about each other, and cooperate in shaping our common future.
