”Germany in the United Nations“ to be the focus of the Ambassadors Conference at the Federal Foreign Office
Federal Foreign Minister Dr Guido Westerwelle will be hosting the tenth Conference of the Heads of German Missions from 29 August to 1 September at the Federal Foreign Office.
The focus of this year’s conference is
”Germany in the United Nations – the UN and the future of global governance.“
Federal Foreign Minister Dr Guido Westerwelle and his French counterpart Alain Juppé will open the conference together on Monday, 29 August. Numerous high-ranking representatives from politics, business, and culture will be attending the conference, which will go on for a total of four days.
In more than 70 forums and workshops with experts from Germany and other countries the ambassadors will discuss European and security policy issues as well as global, regional and cultural topics.
One focus of the conference will be a day devoted to business issues on Tuesday, 30 August, with talks by Federal Foreign Minister Dr Guido Westerwelle, Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Dirk Niebel, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Siemens AG Peter Löscher.
