Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle has condemned the attack by armed terrorists on a hotel in Kabul.
In Berlin today (29 June) he issued the following statement in this connection:
“I condemn the terrorist attack on a hotel in Kabul. We mourn all those murdered in this senseless act of terror. The perpetrators’ sole aim is to stop the quest for peace in Afghanistan. That cannot be allowed to happen. Working with our Afghan and international partners, we will continue on our chosen path: the transfer of responsibility and steadfast efforts to promote national reconciliation and reconstruction.”
There has been no indication to date that German nationals were among the casualties.
