Working holiday programme: holiday jobs for young Germans in Taiwan

11.10.2010 - Press release

A new working holiday programme with Taiwan is aimed at young people aged between 18 and 30. Under this programme they can spend up to a year in Taiwan doing holiday jobs or undergoing training. This was announced in a joint statement issued today (11 October) by the Taipei Representative Office in Berlin and the German Institute in Taipei. The new programme will enable participants to gain valuable insights into Taiwan’s culture and daily life and to improve their Chinese language skills.

Under this programme, which is based on reciprocity, young people from Taiwan can also come to Germany.

They can apply for working holiday visas, which are valid for one year and entitle them to work in Germany. Applications from Germany for such visas can be addressed to the Taipei Representative Offices in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich and Frankfurt. More information on visa applications is available on the website of the Taipei Representative Office in Berlin.

Germany already has working holiday programmes with Australia, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea and Hong Kong. With Canada there is a Youth Mobility Programme. All of these programmes are very popular.
