We utterly condemn today’s terrorist attacks in southern Beirut. Killing innocent people and attacking diplomatic missions is altogether inacceptable. Our sympathy goes out to the many victims and their families.

All political stakeholders in Lebanon are called upon to pursue a course of dialogue and compromise in order to strengthen political stability in the country and to prevent the civil war in neighbouring Syria from spilling over to Lebanon. Germany will spare no effort to work towards this goal.
