Foreign Minister Westerwelle visited from 24 to 27 March the Omani capital Muscat and then travelled on to Seoul, Soueth Korea, where he attended the Nuclear Security Summit. more
Trip to Southern Caucasus
Foreign Minister Westerwelle travelled to the Southern Caucasus countries Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan on 14-16 March. The issues to be discussed were manifold – from regional conflicts and the three countries’ European outlook to cooperation in the economic and energy sectors and – last but not least – human rights. more
Trip to the Arab Peninsula
Foreign Minister Westerwelle travelled to Yemen and Saudi Arabia on 10 and 11 March. The Minister was in Yemen to take stock of the transition process, while Saudi Arabia has a key role to play in resolving regional conflicts and is the seat of the Gulf Cooperation Council. more
The past as an incentive to shape the future
Twenty years ago, the German-Czechoslovak Good-Neighbourliness Treaty was signed. Foreign Minister Westerwelle was in Prague on 6 March to celebrate this watershed in European history. more
