Germany condemns today’s test of a ballistic intercontinental missile by North Korea in the strongest possible terms. This is an irresponsible provocation and blatantly endangers both the security of our partners in the region and international security.

North Korea’s continued violations of United Nations Security Council resolutions are deeply worrying. We call on North Korea to fully implement the decisions of the United Nations Security Council and to accept the dialogue offers from the USA and South Korea. North Korea is bound to the complete, verifiable and irreversible dismantlement of its programmes to develop weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.

The German government is in close contact with its G7 and EU partners regarding further reactions to the latest missile test by North Korea.
