Welcome
Statement by Minister of State Michelle Müntefering prior to her visit to Qatar
Minister of State Michelle Müntefering issued the following statement today (26 March) before heading off to Qatar:
During the next few days, I will be taking part in the opening of the new National Museum of Qatar. In the last few months, we have seen a lively debate in Germany on the role of museums in society and the right concepts for museum practice. For that we need to look at the rest of the world. I am looking forward to discussing innovative approaches to the work of museums with experts and cultural policy-makers from many different countries in Qatar – we can learn a lot from each other.
