The adoption of Resolution 2467 is a milestone on the path towards putting an end to sexual violence in conflicts. By taking this step, the UN Security Council has underscored its resolve to hold those responsible for sexual violence to account, also through targeted sanctions. With this Resolution, we are putting victims centre stage and call on all member states to allow them to live their lives in dignity. I would like to thank all those who made this success in the fight against sexual violence in conflicts possible through their commitment and cooperation in the UN.
