In line with the Federal Protection against Infection Act, Foreign Minister Maas is self-isolating as of today after it was established that a member of his close protection team has contracted COVID-19. A first COVID-19 test carried out today came back negative.

In cooperation with the public health service, the Federal Foreign Office is investigating whether and to what extent other individuals are affected and what measures need to be taken. Any persons affected will be contacted immediately.
