The German Government condemns in the strongest possible terms the recent illegal launch by North Korea of an intercontinental ballistic missile. North Korea’s ongoing and blatant violations of relevant UN Security Council resolutions are deeply worrying. The illegal missile launches are dangerous and reckless and endanger regional and international peace in an irresponsible manner.

We call on North Korea to implement the decisions of the Security Council in full and to accept the offers of dialogue put forward by the United States and South Korea. North Korea is bound to the complete, verifiable and irreversible ending of its programmes to develop weapons of mass destruction and ballistic missiles.
