Federal Foreign Office on the start of the trial on the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17
A Federal Foreign Office Spokesperson issued the following statement today (8 March 2020) on the start of the trial on the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in the Netherlands on 9 March 2020:
Germany welcomes the start of the trial on 9 March 2020 on the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 on 17 July 2014. The trial is an important step in clarifying this terrible event, which cost 298 people their lives.
Germany has supported the work of the joint investigation team from the outset, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2166. All countries are called on to play a constructive role in further investigations.
