Welcome

The Berlin Climate and Security Conference at the Federal Foreign Office

31.05.2019 - Press release

The Berlin Climate and Security Conference will be held in the Federal Foreign Office’s Weltsaal on 4 June. Foreign Minister Maas will give the opening address. Besides Minister Maas, the event will be attended by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi, other Foreign Ministers and John Kerry.

Climate change is a key foreign and security policy challenge. That is why Germany has made climate and security a priority of its UN Security Council membership. By hosting the Berlin Climate and Security Conference, we want to further advance the debate about the security implications of climate change. This includes discussing the development of early warning mechanisms.
