We are shocked by the devastating attack in the centre of Baghdad in which dozens of people were killed this morning. We condemn this perfidious act of terror in the strongest possible terms. We mourn the lives lost. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims.

Following the encouraging news of the past months, this act shows once again that terrorism has not yet been fully defeated in Iraq. We will continue to stand resolutely shoulder to shoulder with our Iraqi partners.
