Ahead of his departure for Canada, Minister of State Annen issued the following statement today (7 January):
Canada is one of Germany’s most important partners in the world. Our countries are bound by long-standing cooperation based on mutual trust. We share key foreign and trade policy principles. Together we are working to uphold the rules based international order, to promote disarmament and arms control as well as to further the fight against climate change. Especially in view of the current situation, we want to further expand and intensify our cooperation. The ties between Canada and Germany epitomise close transatlantic relations between equals.
