We condemn in the strongest possible terms the attacks in Afghanistan that claimed dozens of lives yesterday. The perfidious attacks in Ghor and Kabul targeted people who wanted to practise their religion in the mosque. Nothing can justify this senseless violence. Our thoughts are with the victims’ families and friends. We wish those who were injured a rapid recovery.

Germany continues to stand resolutely shoulder to shoulder with the Afghan people. Together with the international community, we will keep supporting Afghanistan’s reconstruction and stabilisation efforts.
