I am pleased that my Turkish friend and colleague, Ambassador Karslıoğlu , has now returned to Berlin to again take up his duties as Turkey’s representative in Germany. I most recently met with Hüseyin during my visit to Ankara this August.

I know and value him not only as a knowledgeable expert on German-Turkish relations, but also as a person who is as wholeheartedly committed as I am to a good relationship built on trust between our countries. I therefore also view his return as an important positive step in our bilateral Relations.
