The German and Greek Foreign Ministers, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Nikos Kotzias, spoke about the whole range of the two countries’ bilateral relations during their talks in Athens on 29 October 2015.

They agreed to reinvigorate relations between Germany and Greece, with a focus on the following areas:

• Renewing the foundation of the German-Greek partnership
• Swiftly establishing the German-Greek Youth Office to promote dialogue and exchange among the young people of both countries
• Collaborating more closely in the academic sphere and further intensifying the successful research cooperation already in place
• Creating joint mechanisms for knowledge-sharing in such fields as energy and healthcare
