Foreign Minister Steinmeier condemns the killing of Egypt’s Prosecutor General
Following the murder of Egypt’s Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat, Foreign Minister Steinmeier sent a condolence telegram to his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry today (30 June). It reads as follows:
I was deeply shocked by the news that Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat has died in a bomb attack. There is no justification for any kind of terrorism and I condemn this attack in the strongest possible terms.
Allow me to express my heartfelt sympathy to Hisham Barakat’s family, you and the Egyptian people. I wish a speedy recovery to all those who suffered injuries.
