Foreign Minister Steinmeier on the murder of a Japanese hostage by ISIS: Condemning horrendous crime
On the fringes of the visit to Algiers on 25 January, Foreign Minister Steinmeier issued the following statement on the murder of a Japanese hostage by the terrorist organisation ISIS:
I am deeply shocked by the murder of a Japanese hostage by the ISIS terrorists.
The Federal Government condemns this horrendous crime in the strongest possible terms. I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the victim and to the Japanese people.
This barbaric act by ISIS strengthens us in our resolve to continue to do all we can to counter this organisation’s savage terror.
