Foreign Minister Steinmeier holds phone conference with Russian, Ukrainian and French counterparts
A Federal Foreign Office spokesperson issued the following statement in Berlin today (2 January):
Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier today held a phone conference with his Ukrainian, Russian and French counterparts, Pavlo Klimkin, Sergey Lavrov and Laurent Fabius.
Their talks focused on the situation in eastern Ukraine and in particular on the next steps towards implementing the Minsk Protocol. They agreed that there should be a meeting of the Contact Group as soon as possible. The Foreign Ministers agreed to continue to work to that end.
