Weimar Triangle meeting of Ministers for European Affairs

Ministers of State and State Secretaries responsible for European affairs from Germany, France and Poland will meet in Herleshausen (Land Hesse) on Friday, 26 September, for political talks. German Minister of State for Europe Michael Roth invited his colleagues to his home region for this meeting in the Weimar Triangle format.

During their meeting in this one-time border area between East and West Germany, the three ministers will not only discuss current European policy issues but also highlight the great significance of European unification for France, Poland and Germany 25 years after the end of the East-West conflict and ten years after the EU’s eastern enlargement.

On the following day, Saturday, 27 September, together with their colleagues from Italy, Slovakia and Hungary the three Europe ministers will take part in a public ceremony in Philippsthal, on the river Werra, close to the former inner German border, to mark the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.
