What priorities and focuses should Germany set in its foreign policy? What are the foreign policy issues for the future? What values do we stand for? What interests do we represent?
These questions are being discussed on the new website www.review2014.de, which has been online since 12 May. The website forms part of the project “Review 2014 – A Fresh Look at German Foreign Policy” initiated by Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier and will provide a platform for debate on a foreign policy for the future.
On the website, academics and experts from Germany and abroad present their views and ideas about German foreign policy, providing their individual answers to the questions asked above. Experts from Germany include Volker Perthes, the director of the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik – German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), and historian Michael Wolffsohn. Among the international contributors are former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and UK writer Timothy Garton Ash, whose article will go online in the next few days.
