Relief supplies for typhoon victims in the Philippines

A relief flight organised by the Federal Agency for Technical Relief and the German Red Cross and funded by the Federal Foreign Office will take off from Berlin-Schönefeld airport on Wednesday, 13 November 2013, for the region in the Philippines hit by Typhoon Haiyan.

It will be carrying 70 tons of urgently needed supplies for the typhoon victims as well as equipment such as a water purification plant, tents, blankets, cooking kits, sanitary supplies and tools.

The Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid, Markus Löning, is expected there tomorrow from 9.00 onwards.
