Welcome

Open Day at the Federal Foreign Office on 24 and 25 August 2013

23.08.2013 - Press release

How do we help in natural disasters and crisis situations? What does the protocol section do when we are expecting a state visit? What awaits you if you sign up as a student of the Foreign Service Academy? This weekend (24 and 25 August), the Federal Foreign Office is opening the doors on the inner workings of foreign policy.

Visitors will find a varied programme on offer. Among the many areas which will be open to the public are the Crisis Response Centre, the conference halls and the Foreign Minister’s office.

This year’s Open Day has a particular focus, namely the Germany Year taking place in Brazil. Brazilian artists will be exhibiting work on the premises, and Ronny (Ronny Heberson Furtado de Araújo), who plays midfield for Hertha BSC, will also be taking part. Music will be provided by Brazilian bands on several different stages.

In addition, Villa Borsig – the Guest House of the Federal Foreign Office, located in Berlin’s Tegel district – will be opening its gates to visitors on the Sunday (25 August 2013).
