Foreign Minister Westerwelle: Use of chemical weapons in Syria must be investigated urgently
On the sidelines of the EU Foreign Ministers Meeting in Brussels, Foreign Minister Westerwelle today issued the following statement on reports according to which numerous people have been killed by a poison gas attack in Syria:
These are very serious and alarming allegations which must be investigated urgently. We demand that the UN chemical weapons experts currently in Syria be given the opportunity to carry out a complete investigation immediately.
