Foreign Minister Westerwelle will be in the Greek capital Athens on 3 and 4 July for political talks with members of the Greek Government.
On the evening of 3 July he will meet with Evangelos Venizelos, who was appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister in the recent Cabinet reshuffle. Mr Venizelos is also the leader of PASOK, the junior coalition party.
The following morning Foreign Minister Westerwelle is due to meet Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Mr Samaras is the leader of the New Democracy party.
The talks will focus on the current situation in Greece following the formation of the new Government, the country’s progress on its reforms and German Greek cooperation.
