The judgement delivered by the European Court of Human Rights once again confirms that there are still shortcomings in the spheres of justice and the rule of law in Ukraine which have to be addressed.
An independent justice system and criminal proceedings based on the rule of law are strong pillars of our European system of values. It is extremely important for Ukraine to make progress in these areas on its road towards closer ties with the European Union.
