The Federal Cabinet approved the 2012 Annual Disarmament Report today. Federal Foreign Minister Westerwelle issued the following statement:
“Around the world, Germany is working for greater security and stability through disarmament, arms control and transparency.
We and our international partners are committed to pursuing the goal of a world free of nuclear weapons through unwavering efforts at further nuclear disarmament and non proliferation.
Disarmament policy is security policy. That is why this year we will keep devoting a great deal of energy to pushing for disarmament and non proliferation.”
The Annual Disarmament Report offers a comprehensive overview of recent developments in the most important areas of disarmament policy.
