Federal Foreign Minister Westerwelle on the resignation of Tunisian Prime Minister Jebali
Following the resignation of Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement this morning (20 February) in Berlin on the situation in Tunisia:
“At this critical time for Tunisia’s democratic development, we are observing the situation very carefully. I would like to pay tribute to the endeavours of many political players in Tunisia to make a constructive contribution to successfully concluding the democratic process of transition at this decisive juncture.
I voice my respect here for the now former Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali.
I call upon all political forces to reach out to one another now in the spirit of dialogue and to heal the rifts currently dividing the country.”
