The construction industry as an engine for exports: Foreign Minister Westerwelle addresses the business forum on architecture, planning and construction

Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will be speaking on 19 February at the second business forum on architecture, planning and construction, which is being held at the Federal Foreign Office. The forum, which more than 500 participants from the world of business, politics and diplomacy are expected to attend, will focus on urban challenges.

The aim is to foster greater interconnection within Germany’s export oriented construction industry. Furthermore, accessing new export markets in the spheres of megacities and urban development will be examined and the participants will discuss current urban challenges in workshops.

This event is being held by the Federal Foreign Office in collaboration with leading associations from the architectural, planning and construction sectors. It has been organized together with, among others, the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development as well as Germany Trade & Invest.

External economic promotion is one of the Foreign Service’s main tasks. The Federal Foreign Office and its more than 220 missions abroad aid and assist German firms worldwide.
