Today (11 December), the Federal Government and Kyrgyzstan signed bilateral arrangements and declarations on strengthening cooperation in culture and education, on the situation of the German minority in Kyrgyzstan, on cooperation in the health sector and on financial development cooperation. Moreover, the second phase of the Federal Foreign Office’s Water Initiative was launched by exchange of notes.

On the German side the arrangements and declarations were signed by State Secretary Braun (Federal Foreign Office), State Secretary Bergner (Federal Ministry of the Interior), State Secretary Ilka (Federal Ministry of Health) and Eva Witt, Director of the relevant KfW division.

On the Kyrgyz side, Foreign Minister Abdyldaev, First Deputy Prime Minister Otorbaev, Health Minister Sagimbaeva as well as Deputy Foreign Minister Otorbaev took part in the signing. Kyrgyz President Atambaev also attended the ceremony.
