Foreign Minister Westerwelle to open the exhibition “For a Mine‑Free World – 20 Years of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines”

Foreign Minister Westerwelle is opening the exhibition “For a Mine‑Free World” at the Federal Foreign Office on Thursday, 29 November. The exhibition marks 20 years of dedicated work by the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.

The programme will include addresses by Foreign Minister Westerwelle, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Dr Peter Maurer and the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Jody Williams, as well as a mine clearance demonstration.

“For a Mine‑Free World” has been organized by Handicap International, medico international and Solidarity Service International (SODI) in conjunction with the Federal Foreign Office. The exhibition will be on view in the Atrium of the Federal Foreign Office until 21 December 2012.
