On Monday (26 November), Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will meet his Afghan counterpart Zalmay Rassoul at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.

The talks will focus on further steps towards the full handover of responsibility for security to Afghanistan and the withdrawal of the German and international ISAF combat troops by the end of 2014.

The political process of national reconciliation, long-term support for Afghanistan post 2014, as well as the country’s commitment to better governance entered into at the international Afghanistan Conference in Tokyo will also figure prominently on the two Ministers’ agenda.
