The Federal Foreign Office is to host a conference on 'The Value of Europe' on Tuesday, 18 September 2012. The Conference will be held in cooperation with the Bertelsmann Foundation and ARTE.
The title speaks for itself: Europe not only has a price, it also, more importantly, has a value. The Conference aims to focus attention on the fact that the European project is about more than bond spreads, haircuts and rescue packages. Prominent European intellectuals, politicians and business representatives will thus be invited to address the question of what Europe's value really is. The Conference will at the same time give impetus to the debate about Europe's future.
Peter Sloterdijk, Heinrich August Winkler, Beatrice Weder di Mauro and René Obermann as well as other prominent European panelists are invited.
The Conference will take place in the Federal Foreign Office Weltsaal from 10 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. on 18 September 2012.
The conference languages will be English, French and German.
Invitations and programmes will be sent out in August.
