Foreign Minister Westerwelle welcomes adoption of Presidential Statement on Syria
In connection with the Presidential Statement adopted today (5 April) by the UN Security Council, Foreign Minister Westerwelle has commented as follows:
“I welcome the UN Security Council’s unequivocal call on the Syrian regime to follow through visibly on its commitments and bring about a ceasefire.
This shows the international community is tired of Assad’s tactical games.
We will continue at all levels to press for an end to the violence and for a political transition in Syria.”
