Foreign Minister Westerwelle welcomes formation of new government in Bosnia and Herzegovina

10.02.2012 - Press release

More than 16 months after the Bosnian parliamentary elections on 3 October 2010, the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed today (10 February 2012) that a new national government has been formed under Prime Minister Vjekoslav Bevanda.

Federal Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle issued the following statement:

“Today’s successful conclusion of the efforts to form a new government is good news for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It will now finally be possible to overcome the reform stalemate of the last few months. I am counting on a swift revival of the process of forging closer links with the European Union. The success of this process hinges on whether all political forces and ethnic groups can continue to work together constructively by demonstrating a willingness to compromise.”
