Michael Link took up office as Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office today (24 January).
On the same day he was appointed by Foreign Minister Westerwelle, Minister of State Link met his French counterpart Jean Leonetti in Berlin for talks on bilateral and European issues on the occasion of Franco-German Day.
Michael Link has many years of experience in European policy, as well as extensive knowledge in this field. Until his appointment as Minister of State, he was the deputy chair of the German Bundestag Committee on the Affairs of the European Union. He was also the FDP parliamentary group’s European affairs spokesperson and chair of its working group on international policy.
